ACCOUNTING GENERALIST
Location: Millersburg, Ohio
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The Accounting Generalist is an entry-level role on our small, steady, high-impact accounting team. Your work directly affects our drivers, our customers, and our ability to run a 365-day operation. You’ll handle driver paperwork, support weekly payroll, jump into reporting or audit tasks when needed, and help keep the numbers tight and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
Review, verify, and process daily driver paperwork with high accuracy
Communicate with drivers respectfully when information is missing or needs corrected
Ensure all documents are organized, complete, and submitted on time
Assist with weekly payroll preparation and catch discrepancies or missing information
Support daily billing to ensure loads are billed out quickly and accurately
Assist with audits, basic reports, and general data entry
Back up teammates during vacations, holidays, sick days, or high-volume weeks
Pitch in on additional accounting tasks or projects as needed
Who Will Succeed in This Role
Fast computer skills and strong typing speed
Comfortable with Excel formulas, sorting, and checking accuracy
High attention to detail and able to catch small errors
Reliable and consistent with deadlines and attendance
Communicates with drivers in a direct, respectful, and patient way
Kind, confident, and able to get buy-in when something needs corrected
Calm when work is time-sensitive or repetitive
Understands how their daily work connects with operations, safety, dispatch and all aspects of the business
Comfortable working on a small team where everyone matters
The best people in this role create efficiencies, free up their bandwidth, and grow into additional projects and responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
Strong computer skills; experience with Excel, including basic formulas
Ability to pass a background check
High level of confidentiality and professionalism
Dependable attendance
Ability to adjust hours before or after holidays to complete weekly payroll
Accounting experience or a college degree are helpful, but not required for the right fit.
